My final piece of news, and also my explanation as to why I’ve been so scarce lately, is that this year I served as the Chair for the 2026 Minicomic Awards, which just had its awards ceremony last weekend! Here’s the full ceremony if anyone would like to watch it! I think it’s very important for short comics to be celebrated in our industry!!

I myself am not in this video at all but I did write all the comic descriptions that Mary reads out and also a good chunk of the introduction, so I’m there in spirit, basically!

HOLE Chapter 04 + Early Summer Roundup

Hello all! Long time no see! I need to remember to update this thing more frequently. First thing’s first, HOLE is officially off of hiatus! I’m very excited to share chapter 04 with you. I’m finally getting into the actual meat of this thing. It’s also a good time to catch-up/reread if you’re so inclined, with 100 pages now in the archives to binge.

In other summery news, I’m finally starting to get my show schedule lined up for the rest of the year. The only guarantees at this exact moment in time are the Chicago Alternative Comics Expo (CAKE) in Chicago (go figure) on June 28-29 and the Denton Comic Art Expo down in Texas on September 27th. It’ll be my first time doing either of those shows so if you’re in the area I would definitely like to see you!

In terms of general life stuff something I have been very proud to have been working on lately is helping to set up and run the Cartoonist Cooperative’s 2025 Minicomic Awards, an award celebrating the contributions of short-form comics to the development of the artform that awarded $500 cash prizes to seven winners in seven genre categories. Hole’s 2nd Birthday!

Happy birthday, Hole!

It’s wild to me that I’ve already been making this comic for two years, and, also, that it’s only been two years! This project is my baby, and has been vital to me excising a lot of the demons I got knocking around in my head. Here’s to more years as I get this thing done!

I might hear you asking, “But isn’t Hole on hiatus right now?” And you would be right! Publicly, anyway. The middle chunk of this year got too busy for me to finish chapter 04 before chapter 03 finished posting, but as a stopgap I have started posting the sketches for chapter 04 up over on my Patreon. If you’re interested in seeing process of how I make this comic or are just itching for more Hole I hope you check it out! Here’s an example of what the sketch pages look like:

Blix & Vega Collected Edition Kickstarter Launch!

Hellooooo everyone! Exciting news!

I have officially launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund a print run for a perfect bound, 68 page, 5″x8″ version of both issues of Blix & Vega!! If you’ve never read the comic, now’s a great chance to check it out! If you’re an old fan, there’s still some things you can get out of the Kickstarter even if you don’t want to purchase it again!

The book itself will feature a risqué t&a cover hidden behind a tasteful Risograph printed bellyband, for both dynamic viewing purposes and to preserve the modesty of your smut bookshelf.

Following the sexxxy adventures of the titular Blix (thembo metalhead) and Vega (moody emokid) as they have sex with eachother, the genre of this comic can best be described as kind of an erotic slapstick. Check out the campaign page itself for more examples of that.

In addition to just the printed comic itself, the main thing I’m offering through the Kickstarter other than the comic itself is this limited edition linocut block print of our main duo! It’s available both as an addition to the book and by itself, and comes in multiple colors, so that even old fans not interested in purchasing the comic itself again have new exclusive Blix & Vega content they can access through this campaign. HELLRAISER UNWOUND Launch!

My friend Mark Bouchard (It Took Luke, Leaf Peepers) and I made an 8-page Hellraiser fancomic, with them writing and me drawing! UNWOUND is an Extremely Gorey tale of two lovers deciding to meet the parents and discovering just how badly that can go.

Previously only available on my Patreon and in person at shows, it is now available for sale as both a digital pdf via my itch.io account and as a physical zine through my shop.

I’m very excited to share this one with you all. It marks the end of the “opening” section of Hole, and after this we can start drilling down into what this thing is actually about. Sorry, I made this about drilling hole. I’m sorry.

Another thing I wanted to mention because I think I have neglected to outside of my socials (my bad! still getting used to this) is that as well as Hole updates and prints mailed to you on my Patreon I also have a series of pup play human pets based around different dog breeds up for the NSFW tiers. Here’s a little sample if that’s the kind of thing you’re interested in:

Lastly, while it feels tacky to tack it on at the end here like this, I wanted to say that the ongoing genocide in Palestine is still ongoing, and that whatever anyone can do to help bring attention and aid to the plight of the people there is of the utmost importance right now. An organization I belong to, the Cartoonist Cooperative, is doing a donation drive wherein people who donate E-Sims to the people of Gaza can get art and comic rewards from various people in the Co-op. While I myself had to drop out of contributing art for health reasons, there are many more people involved who would love to reward you for whatever you can contribute at this time. The only thing any of us really have in this world is eachother, and we have to take care of as many as we can.

Show season is pretty much over for me for the year and I’m going to be focusing this winter on making more new stuff for next year, so in the meantime I put all of my current stock up on the Viscous Discharge Press Big Cartel page with a 15% discount. The discount code is BIRTHDAY because, well, it’s my birthday! On the 24th, anyway. The code will be active through the end of November.

Hi! It’s been a minute, huh? Sorry about that! I got busy! You know how it is!

Biggest news first and foremost is that Hole has started chapter 02.

Pretty exciting! Excited to be making more progress on that front. As always, patrons get to see pages a week earlier than everybody else.

Speaking of Patreon (and hysterically delayed, I am so sorry), Mark Bouchard and I made a Hellraiser fancomic that’s been serializing over there and is just about to draw to a close. It’ll be a minute before it’s released to non-patrons so if that sounds interesting to you you should go check it out!
